Despite banner headlines in the Daily Mail (where else?) about a new report from the Met Office showing that the IPCC's predictions of massive rises in sea-level were wrong, the Global Warming Alarmists are determined to face it out and keep churning out the same old lies in the hope that the public will give in out sheer boredom. The Met Office report refutes the findings of the IPCC in 2007, when they warned that sea-levels were going to rise by six feet and the Gulf Stream would stop flowing and plunge Northern Europe into a new ice age. But Vicky Pope, head of Climate Guesswork (sorry, silly us, that should have read “Climate Science”) at the Met Office, is determined to brazen it out anyway. Questioned by the Mail she said ‘In most cases, our new understanding has reinforced results from the IPCC report – and the degree of impact is about the same.’ So, Vicky Pope, you've admitted that the IPCC got the sea-levels wrong, but you think the doom and gloom will just go ahead and happen anyway? The sea-levels aren't going to rise catastrophically, but Bangladesh and the Maldives are still going to disappear under the waves? How's that going to work, then? Are all the scientists in the world going to stand on the beach and SUCK? The report has been issued to coincide with yet another Global Warming Party (they call it a conference, but really it's just a big bash at the taxpayer's expense for politicians, scientists and civil servants) in Cancun. Chris Huhne, junior climate minister Greg Barker and John Prescott (yes, really) will be leading a 46 strong British delegation. Er ... why? How many people does it take to spin a story and drink champagne? Incidentally, John Prescott has promised to unveil a new policy intended to break the climate deadlock between rich and poor countries. It'll probably involve eating all the poor people. Fortunately there are still some people able to take a step back and look at the evidence rationally and dispassionately. Some of them aren't even in the pay of Big Oil. Actually, has anyone ever established that any climate change sceptic has received a penny from the oil industry? This video by Warren Meyer is compulsory viewing, we would say, for anyone who wants the facts about man-made global warming. It's detailed and very long (about an hour and a half) but will repay the effort. Do watch it. We don't want to be the only ones.
